Information we collect
We collect the information you choose to submit through our forms, which currently includes:
Membership form
- Full name
- Roll number / registration number
- Department and semester
- Contact number

- Reason for joining
Publications submission form
- Full name
- Email address / contact number
- Department and semester
- Title and category of the submitted work (essay, article, poem, translation, etc.)
- The written piece itself, submitted as text or an uploaded file
- A short author bio, where provided
Contact form
Any information you choose to include when you send us a message through our contact form.
File uploads
Where a form includes a file upload field, the file is uploaded to Cloudinary, and the resulting file link is stored together with your submission.
How we use it
- To register and manage membership on The Opinions
- To generate and issue your digital membership card once your membership is approved
- To review, select, and publish submitted literary work on this website
- To respond to messages sent through the contact form
- To keep our records accurate and reviewable
Digital membership card
Once your membership request is approved, we issue you a digital membership card using the details you provided on the membership form (such as your name and registration/roll number). The card is generated for identification within The Opinions community and to confirm that you may submit your work to us on an ongoing basis. It is issued to you directly and is not shared with anyone outside our team without your consent.
Storage & protection
- Form submissions are stored using Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare R2 storage.
- Access to submitted forms is restricted to administrators, who must log in with a password-protected admin account.
- Admin sessions are secured using signed, time-limited access tokens.
Third-party services
The following third-party services are used by this website:
- Cloudflare — hosting of the website and storage of submitted form data.
- Cloudinary — hosting of files uploaded through form fields.
- Google Fonts — used to display the fonts on this website; loading these fonts may share your device's IP address with Google.
- WhatsApp, Facebook, and TikTok — links on this site take you directly to these platforms, each governed by its own privacy policy.
Blog
The posts in our blog section are written and published by our own team — covering current affairs, historical topics, and other educational content for students, teachers, and general readers. Simply reading the blog does not require you to submit any personal information to us. If we introduce reader comments, subscriptions, or guest blog contributions in the future, this policy will be updated to describe what information is collected and how it is used.
